An Expert Advisor only trades while the platform that hosts it is running, so a trading VPS keeps that platform on a server in a financial data center, whether or not your own computer is on.
FXVM's servers in Equinix LD4 (London), AM6 (Amsterdam), NY4 (New York) and TY8 (Tokyo) share buildings with many broker trade servers, which keeps order round-trips short. Plans renew month to month with no contract.
